UCI costume students visited to our office to take Sueko's kimono lecture. Sueko spoke what's the differences between Geisha's kimono and regular kimono, and she thought the important things to do kimono costume designs in motion pictures. Sueko has been a kimono dressing demonstration she dressed a Furisode and Uchikake on the volunteer model.

We were invited by Nihon Matsuri organization in Saltlake city, Utah and we held a kimono fashion show. We made 3 youtube videos about the show please enjoy to watch! We held a fashion show for Sueko new collection which is our dress line at Hilton Bayfront San Diego. 800 guests came to the our show.. Sueko Oshimoto who is a costume designer and a kimono master held her lecture 'Kimono Couture' as a guest lecturer at the Nibei foundation in Sawtel. Couture means the design and manufacture of fashionable clothes to a client's specific requirements and measurements. She introduced her past projects and fashion magazines that she did styling, and she talked about the image of a kimono from overseas views, industry people's reactions about new kimono look and secret stories using a projector. The brand concept of Sueko dress line 'We honer our heritage as we design the future" Carmen Electra wore Sueko kimono dress for Genlux magazine editorial. A demonstration of how to tie an obi by Mimi Imagawa, Sayoko Nakazono who are pupils of Sueko Oshimoto. Model: Fusako Shiotani We had Q&A at the end of the lecture. We got a question about Japanese wedding at this time so we put a wedding picture on the wall. We like Q&A moment because the guests give us lots of unique questions that we never expected.

We had Sueko Fashion show at laguna hills on August 22. We announced new Sueko's couture line. The venue was packed with 300 seats and stunning design dresses enchanted guests. Thank you for everyone who came to the Sueko Fashion Show. We held the event that fused with fashion show and entertainment on July18th. Theme was "Classic to Modern". We showed kimono dresses to 1500 guests. The venue was so great and the creative design dresses fashinated audiences. Thank you for everyone who came to the event. We were invited to show Geisha for the company called "The World Networks" for their official website opening event. The World Networks is an exclusive worldwide professional business networking alliance. She is the center of attention on the red carpet. On the left) Miss California World and Sueko Oshimoto On the right) the company's C.E.O and famous musician Kuba Ka They wanted to see Japanese beauty, so geisha performed a Japanese traditional dance. Everyone was fascinated by geisha, they were so into the performance. After the dance was performed, there was lots of applause and cheers. Geisha is something special that people from any country would be fascinated by. A geisha still exist in Japan.

The theme of the show was "Kimono Intorduction Incorporating Elements of Modern Fashion -Possibility of Japanese Fashion Design-" produced by designer / kimono stylist Sueko Oshimoto. Oshimoto designs the costumes using a kimono in order to get the people from all over the world to be familiar with kimono. For the first part, we dressed 11 Brazilian professional models with kimono costume that Oshimoto made for other shows and some which made for this show imagining Brazil. We also had wedding kimono as a traditional kimono for this show. The costumes are made from traditional kimono displaying the Japanesecraftsman's work. There were lots of camera flashes every time new kimono costumes appeared on stage. The audience were mostly Brazilian, Japanese Brazilian, and young students who major in costume designing. The second part of the show, we had a demonstration of dressing a long-sleeved kimono(Furisode). As Oshimoto dresses the model, she explains what tools and accessories she uses. We also used a vintage Furisode transforming to Kurotomesode( Formal Kimono) to show the traditional culture. The third part of the show was the lecture of kimono's basic knowledge and history using photos with two projectors. The lecture gives contrast with modern costume and traditional culture, hoping that young generations get interested in kimono. We explained how she used the aspect of Kabuki and Ukiyoe in her costume design. Japanese TV in Sao Paulo broadcasted our show! Because of the cooperation of the consulate general in Brazil and a Japanese exchange fund, we had a successful show. We are gratefully appreciative.
